Aussie’s have the best home decor sources. There, I said it.
I have developed a deep love for the bright, wonderfully natural, beachy aesthetic Aussie’s create in their homes, especially in the Byron Bay area. They are known for fresh white walls, vaulted ceilings, the yummiest natural fiber furniture and lighting, all infused with tribal accents – anything handwoven or carved belongs. BUT I cannot tell you how many times I’ve fallen down a sourcing rabbit hole and ended up at an Australian home goods website – complete and utter TORTURE! Unless you are ordering an entire shipping container of goods, freight pricing to cross the Pacific isn’t exactly practical – ok, it’s completely insane. And I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t have a few desperate moments (and maybe a glass of wine) where I *almost* convinced myself the shipping prices were worth it. For my husband who may be reading this, NO, I didn’t go through with it :P.
Though we may be an entire ocean away, that hasn’t stopped me from scouring U.S. shops and sources for Australian-like pieces for client projects and our own home. So pick up a few cans of white paint, and enjoy some of my favorite finds so you can get that effortlessly cool ‘Byron Bay’ look no matter where you live!
Psst! The gorgeous interior photos are actually of Casa Cook hotel in the Greek Isles. Proof this style looks amazing anywhere!
