It’s time for a quick introduction and, SURPRISE, the master bedroom reveal at a little project that took us down south to the Home of the Alamo, the Addison Project! We’re kicking it off with the master suite because it has quickly and unexpectedly become one of my favorite rooms of the entire project.
THE PLAN
My designer heart always gets a little flutter when given the opportunity to start with a completely blank canvas – no dated architectural features or existing furniture to work around – just the freedom to bring a vision, in it’s entirety, to life. In the case of the Addison Project, we basically started with four white walls and a window, a verrrrry blank canvas devoid of any “built in” personality. Since this was also a rental space, I planned to bring in some interesting furniture pieces and get a little more daring with our color palette (*gasp* you know how I love my neutral spaces ;)) so the result would be a fresh, inviting room where the pieces take on a voice of their own and the walls just melt away.
THE REVEAL
Queue the indigo headboard and this amazing peachy, Kazak style rug. I kept the design sophisticated yet playful by mixing traditional patterns/textures like the window pane pillows, classic wool throw and rough wood dresser with some funky pieces like a glossy, spiked lamp, modern nightstands and mid-century brass sconces.
And since we are in Texas after all, an over-sized cow print seemed fitting, although I did switch it up a bit and featured a Scottish highland cow instead! This piece makes a big statement but was actually very budget friendly. It’s a digital print found on Etsy and a custom sized frame from an online printing + framing shop. I also photoshopped in a 2″ white border to give the illusion of a mat without the added cost.
Get The Look
Even though we were working within a modestly sized bedroom, I didn’t shy away from larger, storage friendly furniture like these 3 drawer dressers turned nightstands. They actually filled the space perfectly and made the room feel larger!

Get The Look
After countless early mornings and late nights spent trekking across the state (and not to mention some intensely fast install days), I’m so excited to finally share this master bedroom reveal with you. And whether you’re a homeowner, an apartment dweller, or somewhere in between, I hope this serves as inspiration for making the space within your four walls something to be proud of.
Thanks for reading!
