One of my absolute favorite styling accessories is coffee table books! From consoles, to nightstands, kitchen counters, decorative shelves – you will always find a layered collection of beautiful books in my projects. Since I order these by the hundreds for large installs, I’ve become very familiar with the best (and less than ideal) books for styling. So, I’ve put together a paired down list of my absolute favorite coffee table books at the moment!
Honestly, I’m totally judging the book by its cover. On project install days, I’m typically sprinting around in a thousand different directions and don’t have the luxury of casually perusing 100% of the pages. But what I can tell you is all of these books are curated for their color palette, cover texture, and beautiful subject + photography. I’ve also broken down the list by book dimensions so you can mix and match between the three sizes and get a perfectly scaled stack every time.
SHOP COFFEE TABLE BOOKS
-
- Frida Kahlo: The Gisèle Freund Photographs : Great size book with behind the scenes photos of Frida Kahlo’s life and work.
- Minimalista : Nice, neutral book that shares how to edit down and organize your home.
- Frida Kahlo : Her Photos : Another Frida Kahlo book, but this one is chunky and such a great size to top off a stacked set – I use it often.
- Woodcut : Filled entirely with relief prints of tree trunks. This one has a dark spine and is perfect for moody, masculine spaces.
- Made For Living : Amber Interiors has always been a favorite of mine – versatile book size and every page is packed with design inspiration.
- Santa Fe Modern : I’m a fan of all Casey Dunn’s books so it was no exception when he released this one set in one of my favorite places.
- Upstate : Lovely amber color and inspiring, curated old American homes.
- Pacific Natural : Jenni Kayne’s style is always perfection and this cover adds a bit of natural greenery just as a fresh vase of foliage would. At first, I didn’t even realize this book contains recipes and gardening tips – I’ll definitely be putting this book to good use.
- Portraits of Home : The most gorgeous mossy green linen cover. I used to gravitate to all white and beige books, but lately I love adding some sophisticated color back into the mix.
- The Authentics : A large book with a nice linen texture hiding under the sleeve.
- West: The American Cowboy : A big, beautiful book with stunning black and white photography – as a Texan, it’s a must have.
- A Place Called Home : Another one with a pretty neutral linen cover underneath the sleeve. I have been through this book cover to cover and it has wonderful architectural diagrams and a wide variety of styles from modern minimalism to rustic colonial.
